Day 1: Leave Kampala/Entebbe for Kibale Forest National Park

Wake up early to have breakfast at the hotel in Kampala and later, meet the safari leader for briefing about your 3 days Uganda chimpanzee trekking safari. After, drive to Kibale Forest National Park and this is 4-5 hours’ drive road trip via Mubende to Fort Portal route. En-route, have the most remarkable view of tea plantations and landscape. Dine and spend a night at the lodge you booked.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

Have a hefty breakfast and later, pick up by the tour leader ready to be transferred to Kanyanchu Visitor Center to be briefed on guidelines for chimpanzee tracking. The actual chimpanzee trek will begin at 8:00a.m and you will be escorted by the park ranger guide. This primate adventure will take you about 2-4 hours and on finding the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them, take pictures and learn about their daily behaviors.

Trekking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park also lets you come across other species of primates especially the vervet monkeys, olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, baboons, L’Hoest monkeys as well as black and white colobus monkeys. You also have a chance to identify some birds and after, get back to have lunch.

After lunch, transfer to Bigodi Wetland for a nature walk. While here, expect to look out for more primates, birds and mammal species and a lot more. Return to spend a night in your previous lodge.
