The 4 days Rwanda Gorilla and Wildlife Tour is mainly about tracking the giant apes in the prestigious Volcanoes National Park as well as game viewing in the beautiful Akagera National Park where views of lions, leopards, Topis, waterbucks, elands, Rothschild giraffes, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes are guaranteed.

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, you will be met and greeted by our staff member who will brief you about your 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Wildlife Tour. He will then drive you through the lush hills of Kigali to the spectacular Akagera National Park where you will have your lunch on arrival. The drive from Kigali to this spectacular savannah National Park is about 3 hours and involves driving on tarmac then dirt but the paved road towards the Park. Register at the Gate on arrival and begin your drive through the Park until the Lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will head for a riveting boat ride on the beautiful Lake Ihema to look for the various aquatic associated species of wildlife such as the giant Hippos, giant Nile crocodiles and a profusion of aquatic birds like the Pelicans, Kingfishers, African fish eagle, papyrus Gonolek, Grey-crowned cranes, and the shoebill stork.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Following a delicious early morning breakfast, you will head for a game drive to search for the early risers and carnivores such as leopards, lions and spotted hyenas and others such as Topis, bushbucks, Zebras, Elands, Elephants, giraffes, Defassa waterbucks, Buffaloes, impalas, oribis, and many Hippos. After 3-4 hours of the game drive, return to the Lodge for lunch and then in the afternoon, drive to Volcanoes National Park where you will arrive in the evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and tour of the Twin Lakes.

You will have breakfast, get your trekking equipment ready and head to the Park headquarters where you will be allocated to one of the 10 gorilla groups. There you will be shortly briefed about the mountain Gorilla tracking guidelines. After this briefing, the guide and armed ranger will accompany you as you search the jungles of Volcanoes National Park for these extraordinary giant Apes.
Slowly you will hike the Virunga volcanoes and the verdant Valley for the Mountain gorillas and this activity is undeniably physically demanding but on coming face to face with the Mountain gorillas, all the exhaustion you went through will be replaced with excitement as you will have one hour in their presence observing and taking photos of them as they forage, play or rest.
After the one hour, return to your lodge to rest and ponder on the memorable gorilla trekking experience you have just had. You will visit the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera in the evening and return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning cultural tour and transfer to Kigali.

After breakfast, you will visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural village for an unforgettable cultural visits involving traditional dances, visit the traditional healer as well as blacksmith. Later be transferred to the capital city Kigali for a brief city tour to visit the Genocide memorial sites, craft and local markets and have lunch. Later be dropped off at the Kigali Airport for your departure flight.
