Day 1: Pick up from Kigali airport and drive to Volcanoes National Park
Meet one of our best tour drivers upon arrival at Kigali Airport. He will brief you on what you need to expect on your 7 days Rwanda gorilla and chimpanzee tour. After, drive to Volcanoes National Park which is perched in Ruhengeri, Northwestern Rwanda. Today, you will be served dinner at the gorilla safari lodge you booked and later, spend a night as you wait for gorilla trekking the following day.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Your second day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla and chimpanzee tour will commence with a tasty cup of tea or coffee. Later, you will be expected at Kinigi visitor center to be briefed on safety measures to be observed while on a trek to view mountain gorillas. This is also a period in which the park official will assign to you a gorilla family and park ranger guide. At 8:00am, you will kick start your hike in the tropical rain-forest to view mountain gorillas and this may cover between 2 and 6 hours. This also includes 1 hour of magical encounter and photography. After, walk back to chill, share your experiences and in the evening, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to get the best of endowed culture Rwanda has to offer the world, enjoy the dances, music performances and a lot more.

Day 3: Hike to Dian Fossey tomb site
After breakfast in the morning from your respective gorilla safari lodge, assemble once again at Kinigi Visitor Center to briefed on guidelines to be observed while on a hike to Dian Fossey tomb and also to meet the park guide to lead you through your hike. Later, start your hike which may last you between 2 and 4 hours then walk back to have lunch. After, drive back to Kigali to check in at Garr Hotel, Serena Hotel Kigali for dinner and a night stay.
Day 4: Travel to the national museum in Butare
Have breakfast early in the morning and later, drive to Butare where you will pay a visit the national museum. Have a hefty breakfast and later, leave your primate safari lodge for briefing on guidelines for chimpanzee tracking in Uwinka Visitor Center. The park warden will then assign you a park ranger guide and at 8:00am, be prepared to kick start your search for chimpanzees in the jungles which also comes with remarkable sight of other primates including blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, vervet monkeys as well as birds.
