Detailed itinerary of your 9 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla adventure

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to a hotel in Kampala

Meet your tour leader at Entebbe International Airport and after, connect to Kampala for a quick city expedition. This lets you pay a visit to Uganda Museum, Bahai’ temple, Kasubi tombs and nearby craft markets. Later, drive to your lodge to dine and spend a night.

Day 2: Leave Kampala for Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast and later, check out of your hotel in Kampala ready to begin your 5-6 road trip via main towns like Masaka, Mbarara, Bushenyi en-route to Queen Elizabeth National Park. At the Equator crossing, expect to make a stopover for photo taking and relaxation. Mpambire drum makers is the other point of your stopover and Igongo Cultural Center for lunch. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to check in your preferred lodge of choice to dine and spend a night.

Day 3: Game drive & boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Rise up to have breakfast and later, join your tour guide ready to go for a morning game drive which lets you come across early morning risers along Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The different wildlife to expect to spot here include lions, warthogs, buffaloes, elephants, birds, leopards, antelopes and many more. It will take you about 2 to 3 hours and later, return for lunch.

In the afternoon, boat cruise along Kazinga Channel is the other activity you will take part and this is for you to spot out hippos, crocodiles, water birds and many wildlife species along the banks. Dinner will be served to you at the safari lodge you booked where you will also spend a night.

Day 4: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Check out of your safari lodge you stay and later, drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your tour driver will take you via Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park which allows you spot out the tree climbing lions. Lunch will be offered at Savanna Resort then you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 5 of your 9 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla adventure will begin with breakfast. After, head out to the park headquarters for briefing on guidelines to be observed while tracking mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park consists of 20 habituated gorilla families but only 1 will be trekked by 8 visitors. This will be done under guidance of an experienced park ranger guide. The trek to see mountain gorillas may last you 2-6 hours and once you come across these creatures, you will have 1 hour of a face to face encounter. Today, ensure that you have some packed lunch and bottled drinking water. After your experience, walk back to the lodge to relax, dine and spend a night.

Day 6: Connect to Lake Bunyonyi

Have breakfast early and later, leave your gorilla lodge for Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe ride. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the deepest and the most magnificent lakes in Africa. It consists of about 29 islands and it is famous for its numerous birds.

Day 7: Drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Volcanoes National Park

You will be allocated a gorilla family to track and park ranger guide who will escort you on a search for mountain gorillas. This will cover 2-6 hours which also includes 1 hour of photography, learning about their daily behaviors and a lot more.

After, return to the lodge for relaxation then in the afternoon, head to the Twin Lakes-Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera. Dine and spend a night in the lodge you booked previously.
